I want to play a PC game (Warhammer: Dawn of War) that requires 512MB
of RAM to utilize 8 player online play. My computer only has 256MB
installed. I am wondering if it would be possible to emulate the
remaining 256MB of physical RAM I need?

Well..there is the possibility to use the harddrvie for wapping. But
think about, why your ahrddisc and or RAM uses different tpes of memory.
The hd is tooooo slow for that.
And ram is not reallyaexpensive atm. So buy another 256mb module :)

That is what the Virtual memory system is there to do. You may need to
adjust the size of page file provided - which is a bit small by default
on 256MB RAM. Do it at Control Panel - System - Advanced - Performance
Settings - Advanced - Virtual Memory, click Change, select the C drive
and in Custom increase the Initial size to say 500 and the Max to 900,
and see. But it is likely that the program will not be fooled and
demands 512MB of actual physical RAM - in which case there is nothing
you can do, apart from buy more

Only on an emulated PC. Of course you will have to visualize playing the
game using a emulated monitor and an emulated keyboard. If you want to
do this for real then you will need to install REAL RAM.
