Continuing on from our first ever news edition, we have our second instalment. Please let us know if you prefer these news editions to our old method, by contacting us (e-mail address removed)
ATI have released version 3.9 of their Catalyst drivers. I haven't tried using this drivers, but usually it is best to keep the latest drivers installed - just make sure you follow the process correctly. Check out the
release notes to see what has change.
This week Microsoft also forgot to pay the yearly domain registration fee on its hotmail.co.uk domain name. Someone else managed to snap this up, and even tried contacting Microsoft to hand it back (which was more difficult than it sounds!). Check out the article at The Register
Our Sponsors, UC-Solutions are going to be stocking a very interesting looking clear PC case with LED fans for only £69.99. Here is a little picture of the case with the LED fans viewable:

Addaboy.com have a small editorial on
Why desktop Linux can't succeed in its present state. A very interesting read to those who are interested in Linux, or have ever considered using it:
Another interesting development in the last few days has been the introduction of a $5 Million reward fund for people who help track down notorious virus writers. The BBC has a good article explaining this in a little more detail. One day soon a computer virus will cause some serious damage, so this is considered a welcome move by most - especially as it is Microsoft software that is usually exploited.
There have also been lots of rumours about the new Windows Longhorn Operating System from Microsoft, as well as another sneak peak at the new desktop. Such a shame we have to wait till 2006:

Let's face it. Linux on the desktop is not working. I'm not saying it isn't working for you, the power user who has sworn off Windows no matter what. I'm talking about everyone else, the 95% of people that studies from various source have shown use Windows as their desktop OS
