Welcome to another PC Review News Edition. There have been a lot of developments in the computing industry this week, especially on the Microsoft front. Read on to find out more...

Earlier this week, Microsoft tried to claim the domain name mikerowesoft.com - owned by a 17 year old Canadian teenager, named Mike Rowe. Origionally the site was set up, not as a parody, but a play on his name and the software giant.

Microsoft wanted the site in return for the $10 registration fee, or they would persure legal action. This was considered a rather heavy handed action, and the strategy rethought my Microsoft. In the end, Mike Rowe ended up with a hefty bundle of goodies in return for the domain name:

We believe he's a bright young man with great potential," Microsoft spokesman Jim Desler said, reading from a prepared statement. "Mike will soon decide on his new name and Web site and we have agreed to help redirect any traffic to his new Web site to ensure he does not lose any business."

In exchange, Microsoft will pay for Rowe's expenses, the cost of switching over to a new site, provide training for certification on Microsoft's products, a subscription to Microsoft's developer program Web site, and an Xbox video game console with games, as well as an invitation to bring his parents along for a visit to Microsoft's Redmond, Washington, headquarters for an annual technology fair.

Microsoft have also been in the news today as its figurehead and co-founder of the software giant becomes Sir Gates, in recognition of all his charity work and contribution to UK Enterprise.

ClubOC have a review of the DFI LAN Party NFII Ultra B motherboard, and they seem to think it is one of the best motherboards that have ever seen. Check out the review

Hexus have a review of the S3 DeltaChrome we previewed earlier, but found a few flaws in a potentially good product. Be sure to read the review here. If S3 can pull this off, they may be able to corner the budget end of the market.
