I have a workgroup consisting of an NT and XP computer. I
share the drives of the NT computer. When referencing
them on the XP computer I am asked for a logon to the NT
box. I did not used to get this until I rebuilt the XP
computer. Is there some parameter either at the NT or XP
level that is set which requires this?

Yes. The computer offering shares is requiring user authentication to gain access
since the guest account is not enabled which is a good thing. If you do not want to
get a prompt, then add a user account to the NT box that has the same logon/password
combo that you use to logon to your XP box. Apparently you are now using a different
logon name/password for your XP reinstall. --- Steve

There is no parameter.
If you use an account that matches one on the NT
in name and password you often avoid the prompt.
