Hellow. I think I did to much reading. I have one 40 Gig. HD. 128 ram. I run XP pro. I choped it into 17,7,8, and 9 NTSF partitions. Mainly to run Paint Shop Pro seperately (330 MB). The 3 smaller are still formated so it's not to late. How do I distribute Ram? One biggie, four smallies (300)? Move one lump pagefile to a open partition.( All 4 are basic) 4 partitions to much? I used up 10 GB. total before split with no plans to add any memory busting applications. I will add pictures to mess with. Appreciate any advise. I hit a wall. Thanks much for the support.

With XP there really is no need to partition like that but your biggest
bottleneck is lack of RAM. XP likes at least 256MB but 512MB is better
and RAM is cheap enough there is no reason not to up the amount.

Also, having the swap file on a non-system partition on the same drive
is less efficient than having it in the boot partition.

If it was me I'd backup any data files wipe out the partitions, start
over with a single partition on the drive and definitely add more RAM.

Leave the 17 and use the rest as one partition.
You don't distribute ram.

You don't.. RAM is used by the system as it accesses all your
partitions. If you are thinking of the page file for Virtual memory, I
would leave it where it is, on C:
