Outlook with a bit of Thunderbird feeling?

Dear all,

I have to start up my new laptop machine.

Though I always worked on Windows, using and appreciating Outlook, in the latest time I had to use Thunderbird with Lightning plugin on a Mac machine.

I was extremely impressed by the fact that Thunderbird offers the possibility to have a bar with schedule, calendar and tasks at the side of the mailboxes.

It is really comfortable, as it is always offered to you the ..outlook (!) summary of your activities, tasks and the email on the same window.
While writing an email, or updating an appointment, this is really comfortable.

Is there any possibility to customize MS Outlook, so that the summary of you activities is always displayed?
