Outlook and IMAP message downloading?

N

news

From what it looks like, Outlook 2000 appears to actually download the
msg to the PC when you use the Preview Pane.
Does it?
Can't find anything in the Help about it.
If so, that kind of defeats the purpose of using IMAP, to keep the mail
on the server. =/

Thanks for any tips

No, it doesn't because the message is only cached on your PC to speed things
up. It doesn't get removed from the server.

How does all this affect message searching? Can a user still
effectively search for e-mail in Outlook while using IMAP? Subject
search, body search, etc?
More importantly, can one still use Lookout when they're using Outlook
with IMAP?

Thanks for the help!

You can search only a single information service with Find or Advanced Find.
So, you can search your PST or your IMAP store, but not both.

Beats me. I don't use Lookout. Why not try it?
