Outlook 2007 Error 550 Relay not allowed

Just wondering since I installed the 2007 beta I'm unable to send mail. There
seem to be alot of users having the same type of issues, just wondering if
some of the account settings are done differently now as I was having no
problems when I was using Outlook 2003 or XP? I've checked my settings &
tried different authentication methods but I get the same error each time.

Are you using your ISP's mail server or a third party? 550 usually means
that you are trying to use a SMTP server from and ISP other than the one to
which you are logged on.

I have been using Outlook 2007 since it was first released as a beta and
today I am getting error 550 for some sent emails even though I have sent to
them before. I have discussed this with my ISP and we have checked all
settings and if I log on to my webmail server to send emails I have no
problem so it is definitely a problem with Outlook 2007.

You have installed B2TR?
This is under XP or Vista? If Vista, which build?

Did you ever get a fix for this? i get similar problem with outlook2003
intermittently.
550 mail relay not allowed to domain.com
Now thing is, that sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't and when I check
the internet header for the bounce back there is nothing there-strange, all
other emails have headers. Also, the bounce back is so quick, like it happens
during the auth phase-so i checked the outlook logs and it seems to
authenticate and then gives;
2006.10.18 14:02:30 SMTP (mail.bigpond.com): <rx> 550 relaying mail to
gmail.com is not allowed

try a few minutes later and it's fine. I don't think this message is coming
from the mail server-can that be right? Does Outlook generate messages like
that?
