My company did the initial upgrades to 2003 as an install
across the network (we use Exchange 2000). One of my
users was unable to open Outlook one day, and there were
multiple instances of Outlook running, so I closed them
all from the processes box in task manager, but realized
that it was never closing properly. I ran the detect and
repair, no help. I then uninstalled and reinstalled
Outlook from the 2003 Office package and it would not open
at all, instead getting stuck at "Migrating Settings".
After waiting a half hour, I killed that window and
instead tried to reconfigure the profile but when I
hit "check name" in the Exchange profile settings, it
completely conked out on me again.
Killed window again, tried to run in safe mode to no
avail. The second time I tried to run, the fix ran again,
same result as above. I then installed Outlook 2000 just
to get my user to her mail for the night, but this morning
uninstalled all office apps and completely reinstalled
2003, STILL doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas? I don't
see this problem addressed anywhere on MS site, or maybe I
have missed something.
