Outlook 2003 Icon in Notification Tray

Somehow the Outlook 2003 icon appeared in my notification
tray and I can not remove it. I've tried to drag it out of
the notification area - won't go. I've both right-clicked
and left-clicked on the icon - nothing; I do not get an
option to close or exit Outlook that way.

Every time I close Outlook, I have to go into Windows Task
Manager Processes tab, select outlook.exe and end the
process.

I did not have this problem before the Outlook icon turned
up in my notification tray.

Any suggestions on how to remove the Outlook icon from the
notification tray?

This question is also being asked in the "Install and Config" group. I hope someone will have an answer soon.

You can't remove the icon. The only way to remove it is to close Outlook ;-)
If it doesn't go away after you thought you had closed Outlook, Outlook in
fact hangs.
