Outlook 2003 does not synchronize with Sony Clie Mail Conduit

Outlook 2003 fails to synchronize with the Sony Clie Mail
Conduit supplied with the PEG-TG50 PDA. The Sony software
version is 1.0. Previous versions of Outlook worked fine.
Is there a fix or a workaround for this?
 
Have you contacted Sony to see if they have an updated
version of their software?
 
Yes. Sony says they're looking into it. I'm just wondering if there are any known workarounds, other than purchasing a different mail app. Thanks.
