Outlook 2003 Attachment Error -- Icons Attached instead of Attachment

Hello

There is an attachment error with MS Outlook 2003 working with merged
HTML emails. I attempted to find this error in the MS Knowledge Base,
but it does not appear to be there, so this information is being posted
to this newsgroup.

1) Start MS Outlook 2003 and open a new email.
2) Attach a document to the email using Rich Text or HTML as the
default format.
3) Under "Tools...", "Letters and Mailings..." start the merge process.
4) Choose "Email Message" (as opposed to a document merge)
5) Choose a database to send an email to yourself (you can make a
one-record "database" by using an MS Access file or MS Excel file)
6) You will have the chance to edit the letter.
7) When it comes to sending the email you have three choices:
Attachment, Plain Text, or HTML. The HTML option is the one which only
send you a picture of the attachment and not the actual attachment.

As a workaround, I have used the attachment method, in which case the
nested attachments are included instead of the pictures.

Try different combinations.
