I have an 800MHz P-3 HP eVectra that I recently did a
reinstall of the Office 2000 program and afterwards had to
do a repair of the Windows 2000 installation. Now when
the user opens Outlook, she gets the following message:

"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The
Information Store could not be opened."

The user is able to access her e-mail account through Web
Access without issue.

Any ideas?

Assuming this is an exchange server your connecting to. Go to Ctrl Panel, Mail. Select the Microsoft Exchange Service and click properties. Reenter the echange server and mailbox name and then click the Check Name button. If this fails, then you have a domain/exchange issue to resolve.

You wer right in assuming that we connect to an exchange
server.

I followed your advice but when I hit the check name
button I get the following message:

"The name could not be resolved. The Microsoft Exchange
Address Book was unable to log on to the Microsoft
Exchange Server computer. Contact your system
administrator if the problem persists."

I have tried using the name of the exchange server and its
IP address - both give me the same result. I have network
connectivity and I am able to PING the Exchange server.
