OSX wont connect to server 2003

Microsoft is sad. If you look under Domain controller security settings and
disable the policy Lan Manager authentication Level your mac will connect
fine. Microsoft seemed to forget there were other clients that connect to
their server.

you think they really forgot?
what did you set that policy to? there are 5 different settings.
what error are you getting when the mac(s) attempt to connect? are you using
sfm? what version of osx? is smb signing enabled? i assume from your post
that you are using ad; have you configured the directory services utility to
use ad? if so, have you double-checked the configuration?

I wouldn't say it is microsoft's fault as they are only trying to improve
security. You could argue that it is the Mac's fault as it clearly doesn't
have the ability to communicate at the secure level required by server 2003.
