Opening an existing named document now produces "Document 1"

I'm having a similar problem with Office XP as someone mentioned
previously. All my documents are .doc not .dot but still every time I
open them they appear as Document1. This started happening recently
after I updated Office through Windows Update. Can anyone help me
please because it is really annoying and makes editing existing
documents difficult.

I'm having a probelm with MS Word 97. Initially, the program worked
ok. Now, when I try to open a named, existing document, it opens, but
the name always changes to Document 1 (as if it was a new document).
Then, when I want to save it back, I have to find the saved location
and rename it back to it's proper name. Needless to say it's a pain.
I've re-installed Word several times to no avail. I've had McAfee
Virus Scan from day one, and it is updated. Scans show no viruses.

Ok... don't worry, found the solution on another group, just had to
re-register word (Winword /r if anyone wants to know)
