One particualr web site

I am trying to view a internet site that I have used for many months. As of
Friday, everytime I try to go to this site, it says page cannot be displayed.
At first this seemed like a simple problem with the website. However, when I
try to view the site from my p.c at work, its fine. I've contacted friends
that also use this site on a regular basis and they are not having a problem
at all. I am having no problems with any other sites I am trying to view,
just this one. I tried upgrading to internet explorer 7.0 on the off chance
it might help but it didnt. Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this
because it beats me?

There could be lots of places you or some malware accidentally or
maliciously blocked it. Until you decide to part with some usable
information though, all you're going to get are guesses. Try describing
your systema and anything you have that might be involved; firewall, AV,
anti spyware, os rev, etc. etc. etc..

Telling us the URL wouldn't be such a bad idea, either...

I dont have any antivirus software on my computer at the moment. I use
windows firewall and dont have any spyware that I'm aware of. The site I am
trying to view is www.emb-squad.com. I did not make any changes to any
settings, programs or software on my computer on the day that I stopped being
able to access this site. If you need any other info please let me know as
its the first time I've used anything like this.

Hi Gamer,
1= As Pop` and Daave, mentioned you didn't provide enough Info, but I will
have a shot in the dark, try to clear your Caches, Internet Files and cookies.
Open the Security Tab and click On Trusted Sites then click on Sites button.
The Diagram looks like this:

General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs | Advanced
Click on Security:
Undere this title:
Select a web Content zone to specify its security settings.
Internet Local Intranet >Trusted Sites <
Restricted Sites

Add the sites to trusted sites.

Then click on Privacy Tab then Sites and see if the website there or not if
not add it to Always Allow.

2= Open your Hosts Files by Double click your Windows Explorer or access it
from Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Windwos Explorer
Click on the [+] beside Windows to expand >> Click on the plus [+] beside
System32 to expand scroll down to driver and click on the [+] to expand
locate this sub-folder etc and look in the Right Pane/window and you will see
Hosts files text, but please not the one with the extension *.SAM* leave this
as is.
Double click the Hosts file and select open with Notepad, see if there is
any reference to this files there and remove it and save the file as is just
click File = save.
Another to rename the Hosts file to Hosts.old and Reboot the computer.
Be sure your computer is free from malwares.

3= Open the Run command by clicking on Start >> Run and type: regsvr32
urlmon.dll click [OK]
also while there type this command and click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]

Please try one option (1,2,3) at a time and Reboot your computer.
Please let us know.
Regs,

I tried all three of the suggestions u have listed and I have cleared all
internet files and cookies but I'm still getting the message" internet
explorer cannot display the web page". I rebooted my p.c in between each as
advised. Is there anything else I can try?

Yes try to scan for malwares and viruses on your computer from these sites:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan
http://www.trendmicro.com
http://www.avast.com you can get free AV for home user from there
For malwares:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com for Lavsoft SE for Home user
http://www.safer-networking.org for Spybot S&D

Then after been sure all clear and clean run this command:
sfc /scannow clcik [OK] get your CD handy to insert it if it asked you so.
Look in the event viewer for Error Messages (X)
I will be happy if you looked to your flash player and your Java version if
you have one for updates but not a must if you have been able without them in
the past.
If all fail try system restore when things were working okay.
HTH.
Please report back.
