Hi,

We are currently trying to use Offline Folders in Windows XP with
varying degrees of success. I wonder if someone can tell if there is a
third party program for making folders available offline that works all
the time?!

Thanks in advance,

Alex

So in what way DON'T your offline folders "work all the time"? What exactly
do you mean by that?

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for the reply. We have had problems with the folders not
synchronising when the user logs in even though the option to sync on
logon is selected. This causes the share that the folders are on to be
left offline so that when the user looks at the contents of the share,
they only see the three folders selected for Offline, not the full
listing. We've also experienced folders randomly deciding that they
don't want to be synchronised anymore as well as problems with newer
local files being overwritten by the network copies without prompting.

Thanks again,

Alex

That sounds possibly as though the LAN connection may be a bit flakey?
(I may be totally off-target on that.........)

Hi Gordon,

Thanks again for the speedy response. I'm afraid to say that I've
experienced these same problems on different machines in different
organisations. I suppose my question should really have been "Can
anyone tell me if there is any third party software available for
making folders available offline?"

Thanks again,

Alex

have you tried Briefcase rather than Offline Folders?

Hi Gordon,

Sorry for the late reply. Didn't My Briefcase die out ages ago or am I
not looking hard enough?
