I cannot install my office 2000 premium in my pc xp professional updated to
sp2
it ask me to insert the servicepack 2 cd. I dont know what is wrong.
if I put the servicepack 2 disc it will only ask me to reinstall it.
any info will be really appreciated.

Hi,

Start/run regedit, expand to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup

Double click the ServicePackSourcePath string in the right pane, change the
value to:

C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles

Then click ok. Retry installing the software, when it looks for the SP2
disk, it will now go automatically to the cache on the hard drive to
retrieve the files it needs.
