OE attachments

Does anyone know why I cannot open an attachment from an
Outlook Express email I was sent? The emails are from
people I trust. The message comes back reading: OE
removed access to unsafe attachments....(then it lists
the file name). Help! if you can. Thank you.
 
While in the news reader click on Tools/Options/Security. Make sure that
"Do not allow attachment to be saved or open that could potentially be a
virus." is NOT checked.
