Has anyone, (Norton users?), had what I seem to occasionally get:-

The Norton LiveUpdate "Norton Internet Security security updates" component
seems to 'stick' only sometimes, and gets collected and installed more than
once, across a period of time. Is this because they're frequently modifying
it, and so it gets collected and installed yet again ?

I've just done a LiveUpdate and there were two items in the little
LiveUpdate Window, the above mentioned one and approx. 450kb's worth of
virus signatures - 1172kb in all.

regards, Richard

Don't install the update for your firewall there seems to
be a problem with it,causes system crashes.

Thanx but, it's already installed, and Norton "never" causes my system to
crash. There was a problem with Norton software ages ago with the NAV
Office plugin causing long boot up times, and I did get that until I
unchecked the Office Plugin.

And I see lots of posts about problems with 2004 versions of Norton software
but, I have the older 2003 which is as good as gold ! (...tempting fate
there....! :-)

I fixed all my Symantec problems, both at home and at work, once and for
all. They've been uninstalled and replaced!

And I hope that within five years or so, I can do the same with all of my
Microsoft problems. :)

Hey Kurt I'm thinking along the same line.
