None XP question

Just a general question. I have a two year old compy I built, with a AMD
friendly motherboard. I need a new HDD, and I cant remember if I can use
serial ATA, or just IDE. Please help

Two years ago, it is almost certainly an IDE drive.
Also, an SATA cable is about 1/2 inch wide and an IDE cable
is 80/40 wires wide or about 2 inches.

How can we help you without seeing the motherboard? Open the case and
look at your board. See if it supports SATA along with the IDE. The IDE
connectors are the big ones. Look in your manual if you're not sure, or
look up the manual on the m/b mftr.'s website.
