My system tray icons disappeared and I can't find a

Did you try
1) Right-click on Start button
2) Choose "Properties" from popup menu
3) Click on "Taskbar" tab
4) Uncheck "Hide inactive icons"
or
5)
a) Click on "Customize"
b) Under "Behavior" click on each entry which says "Always hide" and
change to "Always show" in the pull-down menu.

Yes Donald,the hide inactive icons is greyed out for some reason.
