No Sound in video games

I have sound everywhere else but when I play video games
I have no sound.
Can anyone help with this this.
Speakers are working, volume control is in the taskbar.
 
Do you have sound when you run the sound tests in dxdiag?
start>run>"dxdiag", click on sound tab and run tests.
