No SOI For AMD's Barton Core

According to a report over at DigiTimes, AMD's upcomming, and probably last core for the Athlon K7 architecture will not be using the SOI (Silicon-on-insulator) technology, as previously stated in AMD roadmaps. It will, however, still be on the 0.13 micron process.

However, the FSB (front-side bus) and cache memory specification upgrades to 333MHz and 512K, respectively, remain unchanged.

The SOI process will still be used on the upcomming K8 Hammer architecture, though. Read the full article here.
