Networkplace points to DFS -> SLOW

Hi Everybody,

When I create a new Network Place that points to our companies DFS root,
browsing is much slower than creating a shortcut and pointing to the same DFS
root.

I would prefer the Network Place, so that the users have the DFS root in the
"root" of the windows explorer instead of browsing to Desktop and then to the
Shortcut.

Does anybody have more information on how windows exactly handles lnk files
that seems to be within a Network Place (have a look on a Network Place from
the command promt - its a DIR).
