Networking - Renew IP Address Error

I have a cable internet access through a home network. When I moved my main computer from one case to another, I can no longer get onto the network.
When I try to repair the connection, I get an error of "Contact your network administrator to renew the IP Address".
When I try ipconfig /renew, I receive the error message "An error occurred while renewing interface local area connection: an operation was attempted on something that is not a socket".
I also confirmed that my network card is working properly. Before I delete the Registry Entries I want to see if anyone else has an idea of how to resolve this

Can anyone help?
