I still can't network my family computer with Windows 98 and my office computer with Windows XP Home
But I'm working on it with a little help from some real friendly folks
Thanks!
On Windows 98, how do you know if the Browser service is running and how can you verify that the computer browser service is started?
Also, how do you enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP on Windows 98?

Greetings Tommychick,

See this webpage.

Thanks Eric, Chuck and Jack.
I've done everything you said and then ran the network connection wizard (again), made the floppy and , just for the hell of it, I pinged my Family computer(Windows 98) from my Office computer(Windows XP Home) an low and behold it pinged sucessfully. I knew I was in! So I ran the floppy in the Family computer, ran the network wizard and BAM! - there it was both computers showing on My Network Places. I now have access to anything I want on my Office computer from my Family computer. I flew to my Office computer, clicked on View Workgroup Computers and there they were - both computers - Family & Office. I now have access to anything I want on my Family computer from my Office computer and vise versa
We did it!!!! Thanks to you
If I have anymore problems, I know where to go

Eternally grateful
