Netscape, IE, Firefox shuts down

I am having a STRANGE issue with my web browsers. I think it's a windows
issue because it seems to effect Netscape (7.2), IE, and Firefox all in
the same way. As I am browsing periodically I click on a link or if I
am viewing my email sometimes it's a particular email will shut down
the browser or email program. It is not all links or email just one now
and then and I can find nothing common about the link or email that
shuts it down. If I find a link or email that closes down the program
it does so every time I click on it. Does anyone have any idea what is
going on? This is EXTREAMLY annoying. Could it be spyware or a virus
that is avoiding detection. Could a hacker have sent some kind of java
script or something that does this?

Go through the normal troubleshooting steps to determine if the computer
is virus/malware clean:

I cant tell from here. Run 2 different anti virus checkers and 2
different anti spyware checkers and report back.

Not at all likely.
