Need XP Pro (OEM) Install Procedure

I will be doing a new install of XP Pro(OEM) on a computer running Win 98.
Can I just run the installation or should I Fdisk, Format, then install?

I have copied the I386 folder onto my hard drive to speed things up,
should I run the WINNT or the WINNT32 file? What is the difference?

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of
the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
