Need Office 2000 Pro Help

I am running XP SP2 RC2 and I have Office 2000 pro (stop laughing!). Here's
my problem. When I try to click on a file I've sent to desktop as a shortcut,
or when I am searching for a file, or when I'm looking through Office
documents in Program Files, Windows Installer starts up. Usually 4 times in a
row. I know there is a resource that is not right, but I don't know how to
find it or what to do once it's located. Here is what the error report in the
Applications Event Log said: Detection of product
'{00010409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}', feature 'EXCELFiles' failed during
request for component '{CC29E96F-7BC2-11D1-A921-00A0C91E2AA2}'

Assuming you have the Office2k disks, youve run the repair option?
PS I've used O2k pro for years, cannot find any reason to upgrade.

No, I don't have the disk. Office 2K was put on by the company I bought my
comp from (to sweeten the deal). I wish I did have the disk, then I would
repair and, if that didn't work, reinstall it.
