We are running XP Home on both the main PC and the laptop and have a BT
1800HG Home Hub.

We've tried running the Network Wizard which doesn't seem to DO anything
(other than ask you to create a Network disk, which is no use at all when the
Laptop hasn't got a floppy drive)> I can't use the XP CD because I don't
have one - both machines came with XP Home already installed. The main PC
is included in the Workgroup but we can't get the laptop sorted.

I think I may need a Flash drive to set up the network correctly as the
Wizard only asks you to print the network settings, and doesn't actually tell
you what to do with them!

Any suggestions (preferably in words of one syllable with pictures) would be
gratefully accepted.

Thanks

A good book would be the solid way to go.

Otherwise, the content of the following links will provide you with a basic
tutorial about Sharing Internet and using Wire & Wireless; it is short and
to the point:

The page above was written by me ages ago. You might ignore the prices, and
the specific choice of hardware, stick with the principles are still the
same.
