ive read a couple of pages on here to find the solution but none of them have
worked. basically in a fit of anger i switched off my pc from the button as
it was going so slow instead of shutting it down the proper way and now
whenever i switch my pc on its in a loop of starting asking which mode i want
to start windows in i.e.: safe mode, normal mode and so on and i select 1 of
them and then it goes to the windows loading screen and then restarts.
Ive read people sayin use the recovery console on my xp sp2 cd which ive
done and on my pc ive set myself as the administrator so i know the password
for it but when i bring up the recovery console it doesnt ask to press 1 for
the c:\windows nor does it ask me for my administrator password which i know
also.
so basically im stuck cos when i go into the recovery console i get c:\ all
the time and when i type a prompt in like c:\listsvc it just goes back to
c:\!!
please somebody help me cos i cant lose my uni work on my hard drive!!!!
by the way i do have my pc setup to boot from the cd/dvd drive
yours beggingly
