my monitor frequently switches off when I am typing emails

My monitor switches off and a blue message box appears,then my whole system
shuts down and the swithces back on a few seconds later.This problem also
occurs when typing on "word" and when playing Pc games e.g. "the Sims".

Sounds like a Windows/driver issue to me then. Better ask this in a Windows
newsgroup corresponding your version. Don't forget to mention your Service
Pack level, exact error message as it appears on the screen and for Windows
NT, 2000, or XP also what is logged to the Event Viewer.
