I desperately need help with troubleshooting a security
issue. I am running XP Home version and had been using it
without seting up a password to log on. I recently set
up a network to connect to another computer in my home
office, and so also set up multiple users for my computer
and passwords as well. Now, the system prompts be for my
user log on and pasword over and over again throughout the
day...every few munitues or so, or perhaps everytime there
is a gap in my use (like when the screensaver comes on).
I can't believe that this is something we all leave with,
so I am hoping that there is a setting that can be
adjusted to tell it NOT to do that. I am not concerned
about added security like that--I just want to be able to
log on ONCE and that's it :))

If anyone can help me with this it would be SO appreciated.

Thank you!

Melissa

Have you tried clearing your screen saver passwords? Go
to your Control Panel and under "Display" you will find
the screen saver settings. Just uncheck the password
setting and click Apply
