Access MS access 2007 Help needed maybe SQL or not

Im trying to build a report that prompts me how I would like to have it sorted. for example by user ID or date Part number etc... Im building this report off of a query, so Im not sure if I need to have this happen in the query or in the report. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
