About 7 or 8 month ago I got a copy of Window XP Pro, and
Office for XP. I installed them both on my old
computer. It sort of work OK, but ran a little slow. I
now have a newer computer, used but newer, and doesn't
have Windows XP installed on it. A friend said Symantec
had a program that would move XP, Office XP, and all my
other programs to the newer computer, so I bought
Symantec System Works. I tried using the Ghost program,
which seemed to be working, but now the hard drive on my
newer computer doesn't work. What do I do now? How do I
fix it.

Set your system to boot from the CD, insert the WinXP CD and choose to do a
"Repair Install". This will reinstall XP over itself with the proper
drivers/settings that match your current mobo and HW. Reset to boot first
off your HDD, remove the CD and you should be good to go on your next
reboot.
