help! What is the easiest way to move Outlook email from
one computer to another? I'm using outlook 2003. I copied
all files out of the Microsoft\Outlook folder...
Outlook.pst archive.pst, mailbox.PAB and extend.dat. and
into the Outlook folder on the new computer, but I get
duplicate folders showing in the left-hand pane. Also, it
did not pick up the e-mail account settings. I mean, I
can hand enter those, but when I used to do this in
Outlook 2002 it would take the settings. Can someone help
me?

Copy the .pst files (no need for the others, they are recreated by your new
installation) to a location of your choice. NEVER try to overwrite files
already created by the new installation. Once you have the file copied to
your preferred location, open OUtlook and use File->Open and navigate to the
location. Open the file, make it your default, and then close the new one
created when you installed Outlook.
