I have just formatted and installed xp. I forgot to look
what type of modem I had and xp didn't pick it up. I have
no drivers for it. How can I find out what type of modem
I have so I can get the drivers off the net? In hardware
it just says "PCI simple communication connection"

Thanks in advance

I have found that windows often puts up that messgae for
a PCI modem.. Mine does thatbut it changes to the correct
name if it's a well known make of modem
you can get the drivers from checking the FFm # that on
the modem somewhere

Crack open the case and pull the modem out and inspect it. In the long run,
you'll probably save time doing that. I'd grab any make/models on the PCB,
failing that, locate the model on the main controller chip.
