Installed an upgrade to Windows XP from Windows 98
Second Ed. If the computer is shut down then restarted,
the modem, when used for dial up internet connection
gives an error stating that no dial tone was found. All
trouble shooting shows the modem to be working
perfectly. If I go to Control Panel - Phone and Modem
Options and remove the modem then install the modem again
it works fine. There are absolutly no differences in
visible software settings from working to not working. A
new modem does not solve this problem. I apprciate any
help.
Thanks,
Kendall
