Missing Icons in shortcuts

Some of my icons have disappeared from my shortcuts, and
i'm unable to change the icon back, since the "change
icon" button is greyed out. Is there anyway to fix this
without recreating all my shortcuts?

Did you try system restore?

I don't know exactly when the problem started, and i've installed a lot of things since.
