Missing default .bmp icon

O

On The Pike

Greetings all,

For whatever reason, the default icon that signifies a bitmap image has been
replaced with the first (apparently default) icon in
C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll (resource 1).

I can view bmp images, but any file directly referencing a bmp image is
represented by this other (curled corner) icon.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for the suggestions. Here's the problem:

WE/Tools/Folder Options/File Types/BMP Image/Advanced/Change Icon/
**ALERT** Windows cannot find the file %.

Therein lies my problem- the default icon that is associated with the
windows bitmap file is either corrupt or "lost".

I have tried the other suggestions via your page to no avail. Would you (or
anyone) be able to send to me the default bitmap icon, and the location
where it would normally be located?

Thanks,
Jeff
