Is there any way of mirroring a drive under XP Pro so that we can just swap
out a failed drive and use the mirror copy?

I know this function is available on 2003 server etc, but is there anything
similar that will mirror the drive on the fly on XP Pro.

Many thanks,

Neil

If done by hardware (usually IS done by hardware..)
According to this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314343

"You cannot create mirrored volumes or RAID-5 volumes on Windows XP Home
Edition, Windows XP Professional, or Windows XP 64-Bit Edition-based
computers. However, you can use a Windows XP Professional-based computer to
create a mirrored or RAID-5 volume on remote computers that are running
Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, or Windows 2000
Datacenter Server. You must have administrative privileges on the remote
computer to do this."

You could use something like Norton Ghost 10 to do something like that for
you.

Mirrored volumes are not available on computers running Windows 2000 Professional,
Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Professional, or Windows XP 64-Bit Edition.
