Anyone know what is up with MS support?

I submitted a question to them (2/6) they replied (2/9) and promptly closed
the question. To top it off they didn't even read the question, I have
replied to it (2/9, 2/15, 2/22) but no responce as of yet.

I have tried the "Chat with Support" option but it always comes back as down.

Maybe I should call them?

LOL! Maybe you should just stop wasting your time dealing with MS.

Call and ask to be elevated to 2nd-Tier support.

It's an interesting topic. Sadly, because front-line tech support has to
deal with so many "Basic" issues or non-related type problems Tech
Support is now less effective for everybody.

Back in the days when PC's where used primarily by "Technical" users
you could call and speak to a "Technical" Engineer or Technician.
Cost reduction or Outsourcing is part of it, but basically tech support
is more like a "Do the minimum, to close this support ticket."

I've done Corporate Tech Support work and I can tell you it will
wear you out, if you don't get "Displaced/Outsourced" before that happens.

Every time I have to call any phone support, I'm amazed at how much
personal data you have to give. Actually, it seems like they care more
about getting you into the database, than actually fixing your issue.
The "Quality" jumps all over the place. Sometimes your number comes
up in the queue and you speak to somebody who'll really help you.
(But that is the exception, not the norm)

You could use Phone support as a form of "Stress Testing", forget
the treadmill. I've gone as long as 6-minutes before my Blood pressure
gets the better of me. These days, I use on-line Chat support after I've
exhausted every other support venue.

Good Luck with it -

Won't work their is no knowlege based artical on the issue... well kind of.

The problem is with Windows XP Pro. When connecting to another XP Pro via
remote desktop. When you are in the envoirment rdpclip.exe eventually
crashes/burns (whatever) when I am using Excel. Anyway, you end up with
"cannot copy from clipboard" errors (when coping) and if you are useing the
macro (visual basic) editor you actually get "out of memory" error when you
are copying. It actually gets to the point where you can't copy from excel
to word or any other program. The trick is kill rdpclip.exe and everythign
in the envorement starts to work ... other than you can't back out of the
remote session and paste stuff to the local envorment... because rdpclip.exe
handles that portion. Yes you can restart rdpclip.exe ... but if using excel
it will eventaully crash again.

The reason I say it their is no knowlege based artical on the subject sort
of is because MS has found the problem in the server version and actually
have a patch for it but they as of yet have to realize that it actually
exists in the desktop version ... and they have told me what the artical
number is (840872)... but then again you can't apply the patch due to the
patch is restricted to Windows 2003 stuff.

I am on the phone with MS atm... on hold while I dig though the tech
support, maybe I can get to 3rd level soon ...

Yes. Call them. Email is NOT the way to get support these days.
