just got a microphone.

It wont set up.

I am missing the speech recognition tab on the speech
settings in control panel.

I have been through standard help to no avail.

Can i download a file to install this feature.

1. Open XP's "Help and Support Center".
2. In the Search box type: MICROPHONE , and hit enter.
3. Click on "Set up a microphone".

Also, you have to select the microphone as the input device and unmute
it if you want the sound to come back out of your speakers. To do this,
click Start-Control Panel-Sound and Audio Devices-Advanced under Device
Volume. Then you will have to play around with the sound mixer in the
options to show the microphone and unmute it and switch to record mode, etc.
