This might be a bit of a lengthy post and very technical (sorry), but I
don't want to take any chances.
The event viewer always gives me the following messages (let me add I have
not changed anything to my BIOS settings, but I have installed a new HDD and
used the old one as slave device):

AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address
(0x71), which lies in the 0x70 - 0x71 protected address range. This could
lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical
assistance.

very serious and does anyone know what can be done about the fault these
messages report ?
Any help will be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
