Merging with Word

I have a Data base which I am trying to Merge with Word, using the
Tools-Office Links menu. I receive a message which tells me that I do not
have the Permsssions to use this Data Base. The Data Base has several
Passwords attached to it for protection. Could this be the problem and is
there a way around this problem?
