Hi popinss,
I would like to know how many .pst can be mounted in a outlook profile ?

Our experiences: 128 PST files can be managed with Outlook, independent how
many profiles you use.

Thanks for your response but I'd like to know if Microsoft recommands a
limitation for the personal folders mapped (for a standard PC ex. Pentium4
with 512mb ram)

Hi popinss,

What do you want to do?

There is no "recommandation" of Microsoft for the numbers of PST file you
use. They only have a maximun numbers of PST files and the size of the PST
files for Outlook 97-2002 is limited to 2 GB.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.pst

There is also a limitation of the numbers of folders in PST files:
http://www.cof.orst.edu/net/software/outlook/install/pst.php

[...]
Excerpt from Microsoft regarding .pst files: PST files are limited to items
of 16,384 in a table. This means PST files can accept 16,384 folders of up
to 16,384 items in a folder. The maximum size a PST can be is 2 gigabytes
(GB) total file size.
[...]

The size of the PST files for Outlook 2003-2007 is limited to 3,9 TB.

We used 15 shared PST files (Outlook 2002) with arround 18 GB space on a
Pentium II with 512 MB without any problems.
