Maximising memory to a single application

I have started using Diino for data backup on my Dell 4600 XP with 512 MB
memory, with a Broadband 2.3. Mbps indicated connection speed. Ordinarily
this is sufficient for my needs, but Diino is taking a very long time to
upload the data to the server. Is it possible to maximise or otherwise
allocate first priority memory-wise to a single program, i.e Diino. If
so,
how do I do that?

A phone line internet connection max is 56 mbps,a cable runs from about
3gbps to the newer 10gbps,youre connection runs at 2.3mbps.....Youre running
at about 5% of the max,try repairing youre connection rather than worrying
about allocated ram memory, update youre pc hardware on the MB for the OS.
Also,512mb of ram is about the min xp will run on,increase to 1024mb & youre
applications will run better.

Thanks. The fact is I have what I have. In 4 years I have never noticed
any problems of this nature before. It may be because the server at Diino
is v busy. They have warned about 'interruptions.' The program featured
in
a quality Sunday newspaper here, and as can then be the case, perhaps lots
of people here are trying Diino and to upload like I am trying to do. It
may also be because I am uploading about 2 MB of data. This is on a one
off
basis, to be followed by scheduled uploads of new data, when the problem
will not be there. Whatever the reason, I would have thought it should be
possible to allocate more memory to a particular program on a temporary
basis, to assist in my sort of situation.

It's not likely to make any difference, given the facts presented so far.
What makes you think that's where the bottleneck is?
