Hi:
I was reviewing my options applicable Add - Windows Components and under
"Management & Monitoring Tools" I could add the following two items to my
Windows XP Home Edition:
1. Simple Network Management Protocol
2. WMI SNMPProvider
I currently have a Sony desktop with wireless router and a Toshiba laptop
with wireless adapter card and have upgraded the SP2 on both computers and
everything is working fine. My question is what are the two items listed
above and what benefit would I get if I added these to my current operating
systems? I have Norton System Works 2004 on both computers and the only time
that I have ever seen anything about WMI was Norton said their Live Update
should be run twice prior to SP2 upgrade. This would provide a WMI update
that would prevent erroneous messages being sent etc.
Again, what would be the advantage of adding these two features?
Thanks,
Tom
