its 1am ive lost my marbles

I know its a silly question to ask but i guess its off topic..
I was having an interesting debate with my good mate about this 'love at first site' issue
I told her that I do not beleive in this and that I have never experienced this.

She goes that YOU JUST KNOW!! Well I never have!

What do you lot think? Has anyone felt REAL LOVE at FIRST SITE?
Im very intreged!!!:)

Ya cant really love someone just on apperence in my opinion, she has to have something going on upstairs, if ya know what i mean ;).

P.S: A braind in other words, before someone makes a bedroom joke.

Depends how you define love really, dunnit?

None of you ever heard of the thunderbolt hitting?

I've experienced that, for sure.

But, I often wonder, should it not be lust at first site?

Dunno, really...

I've expirienced both love and lust at first sight(which I think are very different), but the funny thing is that YOU JUST KNOW turns out to be wrong most of the time, while love which builds itself over some period of time is more likely to last...

thunderbolt hitting? is this english!!!?

Well i guess when u first meet a gurl u look at her and think like WOW SHES SO HOT!
i think at this point its just lust at first site, you are just looking at her looks!

But its when u chat to the gurl, you meet her and u have a brilliant time with her
thats when u start to fall for her! and i reckon it takes LOTS OF TIME to fall in love with her. . obvioulsy your personalties must meet and u must be alike! time is one of the greatest things in life, never have enough of it, cant change the clocks, but with love time is so very important

yes i agree it is normally LUST at first site!!!!

and for great love you need TIME!!!!:)

Three words :1st LUST
2nd TIME
3rd LOVE

this combination can turn out to be super!

Think it's Italian, actually.

For example, either see or read 'The Godfather' when Michael has to go to Sicily for a while.

It took me around 5 minutes of talking to my wife-to-be to fall (at least a little part of me) in love with her. I am a rational human being in every respect and completely logical.. but damn there is something about her that struck me then and still strikes me now.

So yes, in a way.. I think there is such thing as love at first sight.. in a way :)

Well it's a bit more involved than that :)

We actually met but not in person, sometime before that during a game of Unreal Tournament. I was gaming on a public server one night about 3.5 years ago and I was getting mercilessly killed. The night drew on and it ended up with just two of us still playing. Me and this mercilessly evil sniper (a female who took great pleasure is climbing to the highest point in morpheus and sniping the hell out of me) :D

We swapped MSN addresses and chatted (we were chatting in UT for so long, thought perhaps we should actually not use someones server for that!). Just went from there. I went down to see a friend in London and she was in the city at the same time.

We had spoken a couple of times (brief calls) on the phone but when I met and spoke to her in person, that was it. I was already hooked a litte but naturally sceptical about someone I only knew from online.

A few minutes of talking to her face to face, I realised that there was something unique and totally special about this girl. 3 years on and I still feel the same. She's awesome. My best mate, my gaming partner (when we get time, she works long hours being a copper), my shoulder to cry on and my soulmate. I achieved more in the last three years than I have done my whole life. A damn lot of that I can attribute the positivity that she brings to my life everyday.

We are a nightmare when we are together (apparently) but Im assured it's only in a good way! :D

Yep. It's just like that! :D

She lives near Leeds. One of the main reasons for moving further north from Cambridge was because she is less than an hour from me now and will be moving down here soon

Lifes spanner threw a bizarre one to me but it worked.. so hey.. Im not complaining!

Yep. I did :)

We are soulmates. We just work as a couple and as two independant people. We understand each other implicitly and how each other works through and through. What else can I say? :)

:thumb::thumb: to Shorty!
This I call good fortune!! Wish you all the best!

And I think this is a proof that it hasn't got to be lust at first sight. Love can spring from other places...

Aw, always good to hear a happy story!

I don't really believe in Love at First Sight, but I do believe that you can fall in love with someone very quickly after talking to them for the first time, because it happened to me! However, I don't believe in the Romeo-and-Juliet-style thing where you see each other over a crowded room and fall in love instantly - what a load of nonsense - it's called LUST! ;)

I honestly believe that all good relationships survive because the two people involved are best friends... being able to live with them and not want to kill them also helps (my mum gave me this advice)

lust = sexual desires!

its regarded as a sin for some! I do beleive in lust at first site definetly.
I could look at a gurl and think shes so BEAUTIFUL! That aint love its lust.

but when we talk to each other its then u find out if you two match, normally for me when i fancy a gurl to bits, when i chat to her i rearlise that she aint the sort of gurl that i expected to be!

in this situation anticipation = expectation, after looking at someone and how so attractive they are, you want them, to be perfect when u chat to them! But when that person smiles, or opens their mouth then that hope that expectations rapidly dissapears! and its at this point where the initial love at first site thing takes a rollocking!

but in speical circumstances when boy mets gurl on first impression both parties involved take a fancy to each other. up to this point its very common. its the part when u socialise and chat to each other that is the true mark for soulmateship! ive met many gurls who i thought were very attractive, but its when we chat we found out that its not the real deal.

i find this debate very interesting. just imagine you saw that gurl/guy today who you are going to be married with in 10 years time. and the best part? that guy/gurl u met today U DIDNT EVEN SAY HELLO! all you thought was ' wow he/shes alrite':)

I do beleive that there is someone for everyone, even if it takes 60 odd years to find em!

good luck everyone!!
